An Evening of the Sounds of Philadelphia Soul Honors Breastcancer.org and the Millions of Lives Touched by the Nonprofit Organization

ARDMORE, Pa., Oct. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — National Breast Cancer Awareness Month winds down this year on a high note with legendary Philadelphia soul groups The Stylistics Review and The Trammps rocking a 70s soul revue at Breastcancer.org’s annual Rock the Ribbon benefit concert. The concert will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the SCA Club Lounge at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.

Breastcancer.org is the world’s leading online breast cancer resource, reaching more than 28 million people across the world. The organization is dedicated to providing the most reliable, comprehensive, and up-to-date medical information and to offering connections and support through its engaged peer community. Breastcancer.org serves those affected by a breast cancer diagnosis by helping them make sense of complex medical and personal breast cancer information so they have the knowledge they need to make the right decisions for their own lives.

“Breastcancer.org is so grateful for the loyal support we have received over the years. The strength of our community is truly inspiring,” said Dr. Marisa Weiss, president and founder of Breastcancer.org. “Rock the Ribbon is a wonderful occasion for us to celebrate together. We are thrilled that such legendary bands, The Stylistics Review and The Trammps, are able to help us share this evening and pay tribute to everyone whose life has been changed by breast cancer.”

Proceeds from Rock the Ribbon will help fund Think Pink, Live Green – Breastcancer.org’s Global Breast Cancer Prevention Initiative, enhancements to Breastcancer.org’s current online content, and will help further expand the organization’s reach through Spanish-language tools, mobile applications, and video programming.

Lu Ann Cahn, veteran journalist, eight-time Emmy Award winner, co-host of “The 10! Show,” and breast cancer survivor will serve as the emcee for the night’s festivities. This year’s co-chairs are Breastcancer.org board member Nancy Schmidt, R.N. and community volunteer Wendy Stupp.

Cancer Treatment Centers of America is the platinum sponsor for this year’s event. Other corporate sponsors include Genentech, Novartis Oncology, Main Line Health, Amgen Oncology, Dansko, Remedy Health Media, and Fujirebio Diagnostics, Inc., among others.

Jerry Blavat presents Breastcancer.org’s Rock the Ribbon 70s Soul Revue concert with The Stylistics Review and The Trammps beginning at 8 PM. Tickets are $125 per person and can be purchased through “>www.rockforbreastcancer.org.
