“The Best Part of Christmas” is the brainchild of High Desert musician Bruce McGhee, whose band, Bruce McGhee and 2ekond Kreation, will headline the evening. “The Holiday Season just seems like the most appropriate time of the year to do an event like this,” says McGhee, a former Military Policeman in the United States Marine Corp and Martial Arts expert who continues to instruct at Victor Valley College and elsewhere near his Victorville, Calif. home. “Good food, close friends, and great music – that’s all anyone needs!,” asserts McGhee.
Also performing at “The Best Part of Christmas”: Ray Brooks, former Grammy-nominated Blues guitarist and vocalist who fronts popular High Desert-based group, Ray Brooks and the Bluzmasters; and Cizzle C, “The Prince of Clean Comedy,” whose mission is “to bring all people together through laughter and clean fun entertainment for the whole family.” Cizzle C is also a Licensed Life coach, Motivational Speaker, Actor, and Musician. He has shared the stage with such notable acts as Kevin Hart, Monique, Katt Williams and Steve Harvey, to name but a few.
About…Bruce McGhee & 2ekond Kreation
“My band is made up of recording industry musicians that have worked and toured with some of America’s top entertainers,” says McGhee, a multi-instrumentalist who plays keyboards, bass, and sings on his music, blending elements of jazz, gospel, blues and soul. “I do believe that there will always be room for your gift, no matter the age,” asserts McGhee, who calls Victorviille, Calif. home and continues to instruct in martial arts at Victor Valley College in the SoCal High Desert. “I would like to take my music into the schools that need it most. Music shaped my thinking and i believe that (like this country boy) it will help to shape the minds of our youth.”
McGhee is a former Military Policeman in the United States Marine Corp who got to play and perform while overseas, which in turn, helped jump-start his music career once he left the service. He’s thus far recorded and released two records: “The Gates of Hell” (available at CDBaby.com) and “The Upper Room” (at Reverbnation.com). McGhee has shared the stage with such notable names as Archie Bell and the Drells, Grammy-nominated High Desert blues-man, guitarist Ray Brooks; Shirley Caesar, and the Gospel Music Workshop of America (West Coast).
