Rancho Mirage, Calif. (March 11, 2019) – Summer in the desert doesn’t kick off until Art Laboe and his Summer Love Jam take the stage at The Show at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage. On June 15 the renowned disc jockey presents his latest lineup of R&B favorites including MC Magic, Frankie J, Baby Bash, Tierra and Lighter Shade of Brown, plus a dynamic house band.
Art Laboe is indefatigable. Celebrating more than 75 years on radio, Art has been spinning discs on radio and making numerous historical contributions to the record business. He is responsible for many “firsts,” his innovations include being the first disc jockey to play rock ‘n’ roll music on the West Coast airwaves; being one of the first to play both black and white artists; introducing the concept of the compilation album featuring popular songs from different artists and different record labels on one album; and he had a hand in the first sold out rock ‘n’ roll concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Art continues to pack arena concerts to this day.
Art has also been a successful songwriter, record producer, club owner and music executive – a champion of some of the greatest talents in the music world. For each Summer Love Jam he assembles favorite “oldies” as well as current hit makers. The lineup for Summer Love Jam VIII coming to The Show guarantees a non-stop summer party vibe that will have the whole audience on its feet dancing. Hispanic rapper MC Magic, Mexican hip-hop duo Lighter Shade of Brown, American rap group Frankie J, Baby Bash, and Latin R&B band Tierra will create a night of hot music jamming not to be missed.
