Craig David Celebrates 20th Anniversary Of Born To Do It With Livestreamed Show

Record-setting British Artist Looks Back On His Debut Album, In Conjunction With ZAIKO

British artist Craig David released his record-setting debut album Born To Do It 20 years ago, and now he’s celebrating by performing the seminal work in full for the first time on a special livestreamed show on Sunday, May 9, in collaboration with Japanese e-ticketing platform and events leader ZAIKO. David will revisit songs from the work, while special guest DJ Spoony will spin a classic UK Garage set as part of the evening’s events.

Released in 2001, Born To Do It found the young David merging R&B vocals with UK Garage beats, resulting in global smash hit singles such as “Fill Me In” and “7 Days.” The album transformed David into a household name, selling over 7 million copies and remaining an influential work in the history of English pop. Born To Do It remains the fastest-selling debut album from a British male solo act ever.

“This album means the world to me. I wanted to do something to celebrate the 20th anniversary and as touring live isn’t possible, I couldn’t let the anniversary go by without marking it in some way,” David says. “Sharing this album with you has been one of the highlights of my career and I never thought I would get the opportunity to do the whole album in full like this – It’s going to be really special.”
