Upcoming Seventh Annual Miles Davis Jazz Festival


The
seventh annual Miles Davis Jazz Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May
19 at 5:00 p.m on the campus of Lewis and Clark Community College in the
Trimpe Building. Four bands will pay homage to the iconic stature of
Miles Davis. Saxophonist Fred Walker, vocalist Danita Mumphord,
trumpeter Jim Manley and from St. Louis, the Soulard Blues Band have

Cuban-American Cultural Documentary Ninty Miles Project Filmed in
Havana, Saxophonist DAVID SANCHEZ and Vibist STEFON HARRIS in Concert
with an All-star Latin Jazz Quintet


FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — South Florida’s premier modern jazz organization
is excited to be privileged to present some of the most creative
musicians in modern jazz in the Latin Grammy-awarded saxophonist David
Sanchez Quintet
featuring the critically acclaimed vibist Stefon Harris.
The band will reprise much of the repertoire created for the Ninety
Miles Project, which was a collaboration with Cuban musicians in a
distinctly apolitical setting of musical cross-pollination.
