Euge Groove, Jeff Golub, Jeff Lorber & Jessy J

Euge Groove
Guitars & Saxes 2009
is one of the hottest annual jazz tours, and this year the musical jaunt is headlined by saxman Euge Groove, whose recent records have topped the contemporary jazz charts. On his latest album, Born 2 Groove, the versatile saxophonist surrounds himself with an array of masterful gospel musicians who speak a completely different musical language. The result is ten brand new tracks, seven of which were recorded completely live.  Fans of Euge Groove will experience a premium new sound filled with his incomparable saxophone voices, stirring gospel riffs and emotional and soulful vocals.

Jeff Golub
Celebrating the diversity and bustling energy of the city he’s called home for more than twenty years, guitarist Jeff Golub’s, Grand Central album was released by Narada Jazz/Blue Note Label Group. The vibe he captured is ‘live,’ as if he grabbed his guitar, headed down to a dimly lit, gritty blues or jazz club in New York City, plugged in and started jamming with a talented group of friends.  Golub, who produced most of his seventh solo album in addition to writing or co-writing eight songs, kept things loose and casual, allowing the musicians the freedom to improvise and freely explore the jazz, blues, rock, R&B and pop melodies and rhythms.

Jeff Lorber
Over three decades after breaking ground as leader of the pioneering Jeff Lorber Fusion, the Philly-born and bred composer, producer and keyboard legend is still keeping the vibes fresh and the grooves funky, inspiring contemporary jazz fans everywhere to exclaim with each new musical excursion: Yep, Heard That. On his highly anticipated Peak Records debut, Lorber keeps the soulful momentum going, collaborating brilliantly on pop, jazz, R&B and blues-influenced tracks – and even harkening back a bit to his early80s Fusion heyday – with one of urban jazz’s top hit makers and sonic architects, Rex Rideout.

Jessy J
True Love
. With these two perfectly chosen words, Jessy J has, in unveiling the title of her second Peak Records release, captured the blazing emotions of her legions of fans across the U.S. and Latin America who made her the breakout genre star of 2008.  With her sizzling mix of hot beats, Latin and samba rhythms,  instantly captivating melodies, and model looks, this Mexican American saxophonist/singer proved quite the sensation with her debut CD Tequila Moon, earning her such accolades as Radio and Records “Debut Artist of The Year” and contemporary jazz song of the year by R&R and Billboard for the title track, which stayed perched at #1 for an incredible eight weeks.

Guitars & Saxes is high energy jazz, so bring your dancin’ shoes!
