As one of the few black female comedians still making it on the laugh circuit, Hope is a true testimony to her first name.  She has outshined and out lasted many of her male counterparts with a brand of humor thatis socially relevant while hysterically liberating.  Her universal appeal shines forth with commentary on everyday life experiences, tackling male/female relationships, love, lust, motherhood and survival from a female’s perspective.  Her thought provoking political and spiritual commentary invokes laughter and wonder, while her inspirational poetry at the end of each performance endears her to the heart of each listener.

Hope has always made waves with her humor, reaching beyond the stage to influence and motivate.  Early on in her career she was not only producing weekly showcases that served to propel the career of many comedians, but publishing her own magazine, “Comedy the Magazine,” the first nationally distributed comedy magazine, providing an additional outlet for her talented peers.  Her recent gig as an on-air radio personality on Dallas’ KRNB105.7 radio with BJ & The Morning Show, served to motivate and stir millions of listeners each morning as she added her unique flavor to the airwaves.

Hope has appeared on the Russell Simmon’s HBO All-Star Def Comedy Jam, Comedy Central’s “Comic Groove” hosted by Tracy Morgan, Comic’s Unleashed-“Hot Chocolate” with Byron Allen, and seven seasons of BET’S ComicView, where she won her own one hour Grandstand Comedy Jam Special, and was later selected as one of BET’s “39 Most Favorite Comics.”  Hope has been a semi-finalist in the Old English 800 Women’s Comedy Crunch and a two time semi-finalist in the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition.  On Friday, September 4 at 8:00 p.m. EST, when her performance airs on Martin Lawrence’s “The 1st Amendment” a comedy series on the Starz Channel, she will be one of only two female comics selected to perform for the whole season.

Hope is currently relocating back to Los Angeles from Dallas.  “L.A. is the place.  I miss it and all my crazy entertaining friends,” offers Hope. “Living and working in Dallas was great.  But I’m coming back to Cali’ to celebrate my 20th anniversary in comedy where it all started with a big bang.  This live taping will be the culmination of 20 years of funny jokes, road trips and touring. I’ve invited some talented artistst hat I’ve met along my journey that I feel need some exposure to help me celebrate this milestone in my career. But of course I will have my favorite comedians that I’ve come up with in this game to come by and bless the stage.  So everyone is welcome to the party. Get ready to laugh until it hurts, cause the goal it to keep Hope Alive!”

Always ready to assist and provide service, Hope is a member of AMICAE-Friends of Zeta, an auxiliary organization of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. A portion of the evenings proceeds from “Hope Flood & Friends” will assist “A Nickel of Hope, Inc.” her non-profit organization which features “The Hope’s Girlz Club” a mentoring program for at-risk girls.
