Sunny Isles Beach, FL – This past weekend,
from October 15-17, 2010, Sunny Isles Beach hosted jazz lovers from
across Florida and the United States to their Third Annual Sunny Isles
Beach Jazz Fest. The Jazz Fest was a three day, multi-venue event that
featured an international line-up of jazz stars. Produced by the City of
Sunny Isles Beach in partnership with the Sunny Isles Beach Tourism and
Marketing
Council, the weekend brought the extraordinary and diverse sounds of
jazz for all attendees to enjoy while benefiting Joshua’s Heart
Foundation (www.joshuasheart.org) and the Miami Children’s Hospital
Foundation (www.mchf.org).

The Jazz Fest weekend began on Thursday, October 14th with an Evening
VIP Poster-Unveiling Party at the Trump International Resort, located at
18001 Collins Avenue. This year, the poster was designed by local
artist, Joel Grunzweig and auctioned off to benefit Joshua’s Heart
Foundation and the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation (www.mchf.org).

The Festival officially kicked off on Friday, October 15th from 8:00 to
11:00 p.m. with a sizzling performance by pianist and composer, Tony
Sona at the elegant Jazz Club in the Acqualina Resort & Spa, located
at 17875 Collins Avenue.

16th, was an electric performance by one of the most recorded
saxophonists in jazz history, Ed Calle and his all-star Jazz band, which
took place at the spectacular Samson Oceanfront Park, located at 17425
Collins Avenue. Calle enticed the crowd with a unique combination of
smooth rhythmic sounds and upbeat notes. Opening for Ed Calle, was the
Afro-Cuban Jazz band, Oriente, followed by legendary saxophonist
extraordinaire, Jesse Jones, JR. and a soothing serenade by talented
songstress, Yvonne Brown.

Guests in the VIP area enjoyed reserved seating and food compliments of
the Newport Beachside Resort. The general public had plenty of space on
the great lawn for lounge chairs and blankets under the starlit sky. All
evening attendees also enjoyed a wide selection of food and beverages
from James Barbeque and Epicure Market. The bar featured wine and beer
from Barefoot Wine, Polar Beer and Grolsch; with all proceeds benefiting
Joshua’s Heart Foundation and the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation.
