Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival-‘Jazz Healing Force of The
Universe’, March 29 thru April 30, 2013, presented by the Central
Brooklyn Jazz Consortium. This music series is New York City’s longest
continuously running grassroots festival dedicated to jazz. More than
500 artists performing in 45 events at venues throughout Brooklyn. This

International and regionally recognized artists performing at
entertainment venues, cultural, educational and faith based institutions
during Jazz Appreciation Month. Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival has
grown from a nine day neighborhood event to a highly anticipated month
long borough-wide music series. The backbone of this community based
jazz festival are the musicians and venues that keep Brooklyn’s jazz
scene vibrate and fuel its nightlife economy.

Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival.

phrase for this spring celebration as Brooklynites rejuvenate their
spirits from a harsh winter season with its natural disaster.”

The membership of Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium will sponsor a kick
off for jazz month on the steps of New York City Hall as part of Jazz
Day in NYC on April 2; recognize women in this art form during Jazz! The
Women’s ViewPoint on April 20; host a gala celebration on 4/24; give
the stage to the future of jazz on April 27 at a Youth Jamboree
afternoon concert. Other programs are scheduled for Sugarhill Supper
Club, New York City Housing-Farragut Development, Brooklyn Borough Hall,
JAZZ966, Williamsburg Music Center, Janes United Methodist Church,
BrownstoneJAZZ, The Heights Bar & Lounge, Sistas’ Place, Big Eyed
Blues Parlor, and Emmanuel Baptist Church. Special thanks to CBJC’s

Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium/CBJC founded in
1999, is an amalgam of patrons, entertainment venues, faith based
institutions, community organizations and musicians. Over the past
thirteen (13) years CBJC has presented an annual spring festival,
established a Brooklyn Jazz Hall of Fame & Museum ™ and produced
yearly programs that feature local jazz talent. CBJC is a nonprofit
