Jazz Grooves Presents 6th Annual Smooth Music Festival

Marietta, GA, June 24 , 2013  –  On Saturday, September 14, 2013, Marietta based Jazz Grooves will present the sixth annual Atlanta Smooth Music Festival at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre.  The festival features international, national, and local smooth jazz recording artists.  Smooth jazz fans will enjoy performances by guitarist Nick Colionne; keyboardist Alex Bugnon; saxophonists Eric Darius and Jeff Sparks; flutist Kim Scott, and, bassist Julian Vaughn.

Jazz Grooves began to satisfy the needs of Atlanta’s smooth jazz fans. Realizing that smooth jazz fans had to travel outside the metro area to experience all day concerts, led the organizers to explore the possibilities of offering smooth jazz music in a festival environment. The festival features award wining national and international recording artists who perform around the globe.

The festival is Atlanta’s only music festival devoted to smooth jazz.  “It’s just a great music day.”  Cleveland continued.  The festival features international, national, and local smooth jazz recording artists.  The lineup has included a virtual Who’s Who in smooth jazz.  Past performers have included Fattburger, Boney James, The Rippingtons, Walter Beasley, Paul Taylor, Jackiem Joyner, Marc Antoine, Brian Simpson, Gregg Karukas, Matt Marshak, 480 East, Pieces of A Dream, Sax Pack, Steve Oliver, Pamela Williams, 480 East, Tom Browne, Bob Baldwin, and many others.

The event is held at one of Atlanta’s unique concert venues, The Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre.  The uniqueness of the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre enhances the festival experience.  The Mable House is quietly tucked away in the south Cobb community of Mableton, just outside the Atlanta city limits.   Unlike many amphitheatres, the seating area is covered, parking is included, it is very accessible, and every seat has a great view of the stage.  “It is truly a rain or shine venue.”   Cleveland said.  In addition to reserved seating, there is a VIP area with tables of four.  Robbie Edwards, Technical Director said, “Nothing beats it.  Guests can bring their own food and drink; enjoy a great concert, in an idyllic setting.  Even the lawn seating areas is great.”

About Jazz Grooves

There are connoisseurs and listeners of smooth jazz. Joe Cleveland, Managing Partner is a connoisseur of contemporary jazz music.  After a successful sales and marketing career in consumer food sales, Cleveland found the opportunity to share his passion with others. “People always ask me if I play an instrument or sing. Anyone who knows me would find that hilarious, because I can’t do either. I just know the music that I like and build a concert event around that.”

The objective has always been to present a diverse group of talented musicians.  Many of the artists we’ve hosted don’t make frequent visits to our area.  It’s a real joy to have them in Atlanta.
