Artist Info and Schedule

It’s a power packed show with the Delta Groove All Stars headlining Saturday’s Blues Stage. Presenting “a history of the blues that every fan can appreciate,” the All Stars include Sugaray Rayford, Kid Ramos, Jackie Payne, Lynwood Slim, Kara Grainger, Steve Freund, and Randy Chortkoff. Says Chortkoff, “what we deliver onstage is more like what you’d get with Ike Turner back in the day, a self-contained traveling blues festival.”

Chicago-born, Denver-bred, Otis Taylor headlines Sunday’s Blues Stage celebrating his brand new CD, “My World is Gone,” which has already received five stars on amazon. His last album, “Otis Taylor’s Contraband” took the honors for Downbeat Magazine’s Top Blues Album in 2012. Another highlight is L.A via Louisiana’s seventy-two year old soul and blues legend, Sonny Green who hits the Blues Stage on Sunday.

Barbara Morrison brings her two and a half octave range back to the festival stage, this year accompanied by Al Williams. Barbara has been blazing a trail around the world as a jazz and blues legend with her soulful interpretations of jazz and blues classics as well as contemporary originals.

Jimbo Ross has played with the likes of the Moody Blues, Pete Townsend, Bob Dylan, Johnny Mathis and Led Zeppelin to name a few. He sings with soulful blues passion and plays electric viola with a blazing virtuosic fire, earning respect in almost every genre. Joining Jimbo on the Blues Stage lineup is Rosa Lee Brooks who recorded with Jimi Hendrix and “the formidable guitar modernist” Southside Slim with his hard rockin’ blues.

Rounding out the Blues Stage is 2010 Los Angeles Music Award winner, Shari Puorto Band, and 20 year veterans Floyd & the Flyboys whose members have played with artists ranging from The Eagles to Ray Charles and The Temptations, and who create an instant party with classic rock ‘n’ soul, blues, funk, jump/swing, New Orleans R&B and more. The sweet sounds of Rick Parma’s smooth alto sax and vocals kick off Sunday’s Blues Stage, bridging the gaps between jazz, R&B, funk, Latin Blues and rock.

The Zydeco Stage boasts authentic Louisiana bands helmed by Sunpie & the Louisiana Sunspots, who have five critically acclaimed CD’s and have wowed crowds in over 35 countries with their brand of blues, zydeco, funk and West African rhythms. The dance floor will be filled the whole weekend with the addition of Jeffery Broussard & the Creole Cowboys and their pack-the-floor renditions of Creole classics and contemporary zydeco, and T-Lou & His Super Hot Zydeco Band – a leading light in the Los Angeles Zydeco scene. The Zydeco Stage lineup also includes the dubbed “Delta King” Mark St Mary’s Louisiana Blues & Zydeco Band, all-female Cajun band The Creole Belles, and the infectious rhythms of Bonne Musique Zydeco.
