New York, NY (PRWEB) January 06, 2015

Marquee Concerts announces the annual 70’s Soul Jam Valentine’s Concert on February 14, 2015 at New York City’s landmark Beacon Theatre with shows at 3pm and 8pm. The 2015 edition features a line-up of five of the hottest R and B/soul super-groups: The Stylistics, The Dramatics, The Manhattans, The Delfonics, and Blue Magic. Fans of TV’s classic Soul Train and the musical hits of the era can celebrate a Valentine’s Day filled with love and legends. All of the groups to be featured in this one-day only event were prominent on the Top 40 charts with multiple Top 10 hits throughout the 1970s.

“The 2015 70’s Soul Jam Valentine’s Concert brings five iconic acts under one roof for a show that is a virtual soundtrack of hits many people grew up with,” notes Bill Zafiros, co-founder of Marquee Concerts. “The event will also introduce a new generation to this extraordinary music as they attend with friends and loved ones as part of their Valentine¹s celebrations.”

The Stylistics II

Philadelphia soul favorite, The Stylistics, featured annually in the Valentine’s show, enjoyed twelve straight Top 10 hits from 1971-1974, including “You Are Everything,” “Break Up to Make Up,” and “You Make Me Feel Brand New.”

The Dramatics

Formed in Detroit, Michigan in the late 1960’s, The Dramatics are best known for their #1 R and B hits “In the Rain” and “Whatcha See is Whatcha Get,” the latter, awarded gold status by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 1971. The band appeared multiple times on Soul Train throughout the 1970’s and their music has reached expanded audiences, featured in the motion pictures “Darktown Strutters” (1975), “Sunday Driver” (2005), and “Talk To Me” (2007).

The Manhattans II - 2015

Jersey City natives, The Manhattans, have sold millions of records over four decades. Honors include winning the National Association of TV and Radio Announcers’ (NATRA) “Most Promising Group” in 1969. In the late 70’s, they recorded and released “Kiss and Say Goodbye” and “Shining Star” both reaching Top 10 status with “Kiss and Say Goodbye” reaching #1.

The Delfonics - 2015

Known for their sleek, soulful Philadelphia sound, The Delfonics have been performing for nearly 40 years. The trio’s first chart topper, “La La Means I Love You,” was released in 1968, followed by numerous hit singles including “You Get Yours, I’ll Get Mine,” “I’m Sorry,” and “Ready of Not.” The group received a 1971 Grammy for the single “Didn’t I.”

Blue Magic - 2015

Philadelphia’s R and B vocal quintet, Blue Magic hit the R and B Top 40 singles chart with their first three singles before breaking through and crossing over with 1974’s “Sideshow.” The song went gold, topped the R and B charts, and became a Top 10 pop hit. Their next single, “Three Ring Circus” made the R and B Top 10 and the Pop Top 40 and subsequent releases throughout the decade continued to hit the Top 40.
