Performing In Various U.S. Cities In Support of Her Brand New Album, “NEW AGAIN’, Julie Dexter’s First New York Performance Since 2007, Promises To Be A Night For Soul/Jazz Music Lovers To Remember.


New York, New York—August 1 2011. Supporting the success of New Again, her first solo project in six years, critically acclaimed UK entertainer Julie Dexter is set to Headline at B.B. Kings Saturday August 13th 2011.  Doors open at 6:00pm and show time is at 8:00PM. The concert will also feature special guest performances from singing starlet, Collette and the 2010 Budweiser Battle For The Crowns Winner Darien Dean, also seen on BET 106 & Park Music Matters Showcase.

Soul, Jazz and Bossa-nova fans will flock to New York City’s premier venue to experience the U.K. born singer who hasn’t performed in the Big Apple since 2006, shortly after the release of her groundbreaking Conscious album.  

WHO: Julie Dexter has been steadfast in raising the consciousness in her music since her arrival in the U.S. in 1999, using sharp lyrics to confront political injustices and better ourselves as people, bringing these issues to the forefront. In the process, she has raised the quality of performance standards and lyrical content for the industry through the release of 6 albums and numerous singles in the last 11 years.

ABOUT DARIEN DEAN
A natural born entertainer, Darien’s spirited musical style earned him a coveted spotlight at the 2010 Soul Beach Music Festival in Aruba, opening for Mary J. Blige.  He has captured the interest of industry executives, enamored the Capital Jazz Festival audience and was ultimately crowned victor of the Budweiser Superfest 2010 Battle for the Crown of New York, and ultimately, Budweiser Superfest 2010 National Battle for the Crown.

ABOUT COLLETTE
South Carolina-born and New York-based, Collette is singing, playing and writing her way to new ground in hip-hop soul. Her 2008 debut CD “Experience Collette” landed her a spot in The Gap’s “Born To Play” acoustic concert series, followed by rotation on the Music Choice TV network and opening gigs for Talib Kweli, Chrisette Michele and Eric Roberson. In 2010, she won the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest’s Holiday Prize with “Keep Christmas Alive,” and was repeatedly featured on BET’S CentricTV.com.
