JOURNEY OF JAZZ ‘25:
A New Program from Jazz Cruises
To Set Sail from West Coast Sep. 12-19, 2025

Seven-day West Coast Jazz Cruise & On Land Excursions
hosted by
Marcus Miller and Gregory Porter

St Louis, MO (April 3, 2024) — Jazz Cruises LLC has announced a new program—Journey of Jazz ’25—a seven-day jazz cruise that will sail from Vancouver, BC with stops in Victoria, BC and San Francisco, and ending in Los Angeles. Sailing on the Celebrity Summit September 12-19, 2025, Journey of Jazz ’25 will be hosted by Marcus Miller and Gregory Porter, who each have been a part of many Jazz Cruises programs as both headliners and hosts.

“I have hosted programs with Jazz Cruises all over the world, Caribbean, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean (Mexico), Mediterranean and North Sea. Combining our great jazz programs with stops in the Great Northwest and the San Francisco Bay area is a first for all of us. Very exciting,” offers Marcus Miller, host of nearly 40 programs for Jazz Cruises.

A partial list of headliners and special guests has been announced and the remarkable lineup includes Dee Dee Bridgewater, Chucho Valdes, Ron Carter, Cecile McLorin Salvant, Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Ravi Coltrane and a stellar collection of jazz all-stars, featuring Sean Jones, Benny Benack III, Bria Skonberg, Emmet Cohen, Wycliffe Gordon, Jullian Pollock, Sullivan Fortner, Marcus Gilmore and Eric Marienthal (who also serves at the cruise’s music director). In addition, comedian Alonzo Bodden, known for his appearances on NPR’s popular “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me” radio show, will not only do sets of his unique brand of comedy, but also host some special events featuring the artists aboard.

“This is my first time hosting a Jazz Cruises’ program, but I have sailed on many, and as you can see from the lineup, the programs are first class in every way. I cannot wait to host this special cruise,” says multi-GRAMMY® Award winner Gregory Porter.

This is the first time a Jazz Cruises program has sailed from the West Coast since the Playboy Jazz Cruise in 2009 and The Smooth Jazz Cruise in 2010. “Our guests have been asking for a West Coast cruise for years. When we learned that we could sail from Vancouver to Los Angeles with extended stops in Victoria and the San Francisco Bay area, we jumped at it. It will be the perfect blend of music and events,” says Michael Lazaroff, Executive Director of Jazz Cruises, LLC.

In addition to the non-stop bow-to-stern live music aboard the ship, Journey of Jazz ’25 will offer guests opportunities for unique land-based excursions during its stops in Victoria and San Francisco. Noted Bay area food critic Michael Bauer will curate special dining and wine trips during the two days that the ship is docked in San Francisco. In addition, Jazz Cruises will present a daytime concert each day at the prestigious SFJAZZ venue.

Jazz Cruises, LLC, the gold standard for music cruises at sea since 2001, will produce the cruise, undertake the reservation process, and provide programming and technical support. With more than 80 full-ship charters to its credit, Jazz Cruises has produced themed programs of all types throughout the world, including The Jazz Cruise, Botti at Sea, The Smooth Jazz Cruise and the Michael McDonald & Patti LaBelle Cruise. Since 2001, more than 170,000 guests have sailed on Jazz Cruises programs.
