Robin Quivers To Host “It’s for the Kids” on May 6th, 2011




Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer LEON RUSSELL to Headline May 6th Concert in Napa Valley


April 4, 2011  – Radio star and philanthropist Robin Quivers along with her 15 Foundation and in coordination with MIMA Music will host an intimate VIP dinner and benefit concert entitled “It’s for the Kids” to support the children’s nutrition education programs of the Edible School Yard and the Connolly Ranch. The VIP dinner will take place at the V Marketplace/Villagio Inn on May 6th and will be followed by a concert headlined by music legend Leon Russell at the Lincoln Theater in Yountville, CA.  VIP packages for the VIP dinner and the concert are available   Exclusive celebrity experiences and packages will be auctioned at

“Music and food have the universal power to bring people together,” says Robin Quivers.  “And I’m extremely passionate about inspiring and educating young people to learn about good nutrition like the unique programs I discovered at the Edible Schoolyard and the Connolly Ranch.”

The Edible Schoolyard (ESY), a program of the Chez Panisse Foundation, is a one-acre organic garden and kitchen classroom for urban public school students at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School in Berkeley, California. The mission of Connolly Ranch is to connect kids with nature through farm-based environmental education programs.

MIMA Music, an organization that brings music-making workshops around the world, will be working with the students served by Connolly Ranch and Edible Schoolyard, facilitating the composition of an original song and music video to be debuted with a live performance and screening at the benefit concert in Napa on May 6th.

About Leon Russell:

Leon Russell is a music legend and perhaps the most accomplished and versatile musician in the history of rock and roll. In his distinguished and unique 50-year career, he has collaborated with hundreds of artists, including Joe Cocker, Willie Nelson, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, B.B.
